DOLORES A. CHORPENNING, age 85, of Albion died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Presence Sacred Heart Home in Avilla. 

Mrs. Chorpenning was born in Noble County on October 6, 1929 to Harold and Evelyn (Rimmel) Iddings. 

She married James Chorpenning on June 6, 1960 and he preceded her in death on December 9, 1991. 

Mrs. Chorpenning owned and operated the D & J Cafe in Kendallville for 12 years.  She then went to work for King Seeley Thermos Company in Kendallville for 20 years. After retiring from King Seeley Mrs. Chorpenning worked as a home health care aide in Noble County for an addional 20 years. 

She and her husband were very active members of the Kendallville Eagles.  She was also a member of the Kendallville American Legion.  Mrs. Chorpenning was an avid bingo player and enjoyed line and square dancing. 

Survivors include:

Son; Harold Owen of Albion.
Daughter; Vickie and Dan Huston of Albion.
Son; J.R. and Suzie Owen of Fort Wayne.
Daughter; Dee and Troy Williams of Ligonier.
16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
Brother; Frank and Patricia Iddings of Albion. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; James Chorpenning, daughter; Margaret Campbell, son; Roy Owen, two sisters; Ruth Smart and Edna Vinson and one brother; Dallas Iddings. 

Visitation will be Friday, December 19, 2014 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Hite Funeral Home, 403 South Main Street in Kendallville and one hour prior to the funeral service on Saturday. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville. 

Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Mike Albaugh. 

Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Kendallville, Indiana. 

Preferred memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, 111 East Ludwig Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana  46825.
