Dear Aker family. I am so sorry to read of the death of Lewis. Please accept my condolences. I would like to share something that I have personally found to be comforting. It is found in the Bible at John 5:28, 29 and Revelation 21:4. These verses tell us that soon God is going to bring about the resurrection of our dear loved one as well as do away with all causes we have for suffering including sickness and death. Knowing this has always comforted me and it is my hope that these thoughts will comfort you and your family as well.

We will miss you. I remember watching and listening to you play the piano. Go rest high on that mountain.

Lewis was my brother. He was my protector, making sure I was not bullied by anyone. He helped me in my first summer job at Pettigrew’s Seed Corn where, if you couldn’t keep up with the others, you were told not to come back the next day. Lewis watched over me and not only did his row, but did part of my row of so I could keep up with the others and not get laid off.
He was a very talented musician and taught himself to play piano, guitar and mandolin. He was an excellent varsity softball player for Jefferson Center High School. I remember watching him play a game in which he hit one homerun and two extra base hits.
