LOIS ANN MORY, age 79, lifetime resident of Kendallville, died on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Mrs. Mory was born at home in Kendallville, Indiana on August 22, 1936 to the late Orson and Marjorie (Graham) Stephens. She graduated from Kendallville High School in 1954 and married Robert L. Mory on September 25, 1955 at First Christian Church in Kendallville. Bob preceded her in death on May 17, 1988. Lois was a mother and homemaker, member of First Christian Church and Tri Kappa Alpha Associate Chapter. She was also active in her bridge club for more than 50 years. She married Malcolm Carmichael on August 29, 1997. Lois loved to play tennis and travel. She travelled all over the world and Switzerland was her favorite place.
Survivors include:
Son, John and Christine Mory of Kendallville.
Daughter, Melinda Mory of Kendallville.
Two grandchildren, Emily and Luke Mory.
Husband, Malcolm Carmichael of Oakville, Ontario, Canada.
Sister, Shirley and Ted Spidel of Kendallville.
Sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marietta and Ron Hite of Kendallville.
Sister-in-law, Anna Lee Mory of South Milford.
Sister-in-law, Diane Mory of Fort Wayne.
Brother-in-law, Phil Conklin of Indianapolis.
Step daughters: Leslie and Brian Golden, Gillian McRae, and Kyle Carmichael-Mendoza; seven step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren all of Canada.
Several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Conklin in 1967; and brothers-in-law, Eugene Mory and Richard Mory in 2015.
Visitation will be Monday, October 5, 2015 from 3:00-7:00pm at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 11:00am at First Christian Church in Kendallville. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service.
Officiating the funeral service will be Rev. Dr. Thomas Clothier.
Burial will be at Lake View Cemetery in Kendallville.
Preferred memorials may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund.
Active casketbearers will be Luke Mory, Kerry Conklin, Lynn Spidel, Gary Spidel, Mark Norris, Mike Rowe, and Tom Nott. Honorary bearers are Ron Hite, Phil Conklin, Duane Axel, Craig Fischer, Ted Spidel, Duane Hanes, and Darol Stroman.
