Mary Helen Halsey

MARY HELEN HALSEY, age 86, formerly of Rome City, died on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Middletown, Indiana.  Mrs. Halsey was born in Richmond, Indiana on February 1, 1928 to the late Winfield and Freda (Haisley) Urban.  She married Philip D. Halsey on April 2, 1948 in Cambridge City, Indiana and he preceded her in death on August 17, 2005.  She graduated from Ball State University in 1960 and earned a masters in elementary education in 1962.  Mary was a retired 4th grade school teacher in Anderson.

Survivors include: 
Daughter, Cynthia and Stephen Guy of Daleville, Indiana.
Son, Mark Halsey of Anderson, Indiana.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Brese.

Visitation and funeral services will be Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.  Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm with the funeral service at 1:00pm.  Burial will follow the funeral service at Woodruff Cemetery in LaGrange County.  

For those wishing to comfort her family and share memories of Mary, there will be an additional time of gathering at the Guy’s residence, 7981 S. CR 800 W., Daleville on Saturday, December 13, 2014 from 2:00-4:00pm.

Memorials may be made the humane society or public library of your choice.
